<strong style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">Jennifer Parker</strong><span style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">, UA Class of ’95 (special education and rehabilitation) is a competitive, award-winning horseback rider specializing in dressage. She owns and operates </span><strong style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">Agape Dressage</strong><span style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">, which offers equestrian training programs tailored to the needs and goals of each horse and rider. Jennifer has a strong background in Therapeutic Riding and is a faculty member at Borderlands Center for Equine Assisted Services. She has been involved with equine assisted activities/therapies since 1986.</span><br style="font-family: tahoma, verdana, segoe, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">
<strong style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">Jan Hutchinson</strong><span style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">, UA Classes of ’77 (special education), '83 (MEd student personnel services), '87 (MA journalism) is the former program director for Gabriel’s Angel's Southern Arizona program, a non-profit organization that delivers pet therapy to at-risk youth. Jan is also a licensed instructor and evaluator for the Pet Partners (formerly called Delta Society) Therapy Animal Program and a </span><strong style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">founder of the local Pet Partners affiliate, Therapy Animals of Southern Arizona.</strong><br style="font-family: tahoma, verdana, segoe, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">
<strong style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">Dr. Michele Estheimer</strong><span style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">, UA Class of '05 (veterinary science), is a </span><strong style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">Veterinarian at Ventana Animal Hospital</strong><span style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, and returned to Tucson to complete advanced training in a small animal surgical and medical internship program at one of Tucson's specialty and emergency centers. Dr. Estheimer has been in general practice in Tucson for the past several years.</span><br style="font-family: tahoma, verdana, segoe, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">
<strong style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">Alicia Hamilton is a keeper at The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum</strong><span style="font-family:tahoma,verdana,segoe,sans-serif; font-size:12px">, one of three keepers responsible for the care of 65 individuals covering 22 different species. She began her zoo career when she was 16 at the Los Angeles Zoo. She has since completed 3 internships at aquariums on both the east and west coast. She earned her degree in Recreation Management and Wildlife Biology, focusing on natural resource conservation, and has worked with the U.S. Forest Service and Parks and Recreation. </span><br style="font-family: tahoma, verdana, segoe, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">

The CALS Research Office is happy to announce that we are beginning a new annual event this year - the <strong>CALS Research Poster Forum</strong>.<br>
The goal of this event is to showcase <strong>all </strong>research at CALS, including research done in <strong>academic departments</strong> and <strong>extension</strong>, and to foster collaboration. Approximately a month before this event we will send out a call for electronic abstract submission.<br>
<br>
1. All Faculty, Specialists and Agents are encouraged to submit at least one entry as a senior author<br>
2. One of the authors (faculty, student, postdoc or staff) will be expected to be present by the poster during the forum<br>
3. The Poster Forum will be open to <strong>all CALS personnel</strong> (Faculty, Staff, Administrators, Postdocs, Students, etc.), and your colleagues from other colleges are welcome to attend<br>
4. Posters presented at other meetings in the recent past can be displayed<br>
5. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by The Office of Technology Transfer Licensing Managers to identify opportunities to protect Intellectual Property<br>
6. Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis depending on availability of space<br>

The <a href="http://arizona.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d02ce653ff78467d92a1ca720&id=4496de52da&e=af2923c469" target="_blank">National Cattlemen’s Beef Association </a>is accepting applications for internships during the 2015 Cattle Industry Convention in San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 4-7, 2015. The deadline to submit an application is Oct. 6, 2014.<br>

This year will mark the 117<sup>th</sup> Cattle Industry Convention, which is the oldest and largest convention for the cattle industry. The convention and trade show create a unique, fun environment for cattle industry members to come together to network and create policy for the industry.<br>
<br>
“This convention brings leaders from across the industry together to network and discuss issues important to the beef industry,” said NCBA Public Policy Analyst Mallory Gaines. “Along with helping to see the convention run smoothly, students will be provided time to maximize their opportunities to network and learn throughout the week.”<br>
<br>
The annual Cattle Industry Convention boasts over 5,500 attendees and a trade show with more than 250 booths. Interns are offered a unique, behind-the-scenes experience of setting up the trade show, manning the NCBA Political Action Committee booth, assisting with the NCBA-PAC auction, helping members vote on NCBA policy, working with the media and helping to guide cattlemen and cattlewomen to convention events.<br>

AVID is an academic support program that prepares 6th through 12th grade <br>
students for college success through a regularly scheduled AVID elective class during the school day. AVID tutors provide support to students who are working hard to go to college and have the potential to succeed in college. As an AVID tutor, you will supply these students with the knowledge you have gained throughout your transition from high school to college.<br>
