My name is Zane Gouker and I am part of the AFA Student Ambassador team. I would like to personally invite you to apply for the <strong>2014 AFA Leaders Conference</strong> in Kansas City, <u>Nov. 6-9</u>. Attending this event has been one of the most beneficial
experiences of my college career. I’ve had the opportunity to meet other young leaders in agriculture from all over the nation and make personal connections with top companies in the industry. <br>
<br>
Here’s a breakdown of what Conference has to offer you:<br>
<br>
<strong>1. Networking:</strong> At AFA Leaders Conference you will network with over 500 of the nation’s top agriculture student leaders. Not only that, but you also will get to interact with over 150 recognized industry leaders. You will continue to work with
many of these individuals year after year.<br>
<br>
<strong>2. The AFA Opportunity Far:</strong> It’s like a career fair, but better. First, you visit at a specific time determined by your year in college, so the organization’s present know what you are looking for. Whether you are a freshman trying to gather
as much information as possible or a junior on the hunt for a specific internship, the representatives can tailor their message to you. The opportunities aren’t just career based. You’ll also see graduate degree programs and other organizations, too.<br>
<br>
<strong>3. The AFA High:</strong> There is no way you can leave Conference without being excited about the future of agriculture. AFA helps you define your future goals, hone your soft skills and better apply your academic coursework to your future career.<br>
<br>
<strong>4. The Program:</strong> This Conference is designed by students for students, and the experience is phenomenal. Sessions provide valuable and engaging advice. There’s also time for fun and hanging out with other awesome students from across the nation
as well.<br>
<br>
<strong>5. The Leader in Agriculture Award Dinner</strong>: On Friday night of Conference, we get to attend the AFA Leader in Agriculture Award Dinner, where AFA recognizes two individuals for their commitment to agriculture and the development of youth. It
is an honor to hear from such big names in agriculture. You’ll also be able to use this time to continue to network with industry professionals.<br>
<br>
If any of the above reasons appeal to you, I encourage you to attend the Conference by applying on the AFA website. AFA’s industry partners will cover your registration, lodging and meals during the Conference. The only thing students are responsible for is
