The CALS Ambassador program is composed of elite students representing the diverse majors offered within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.<br>It is the goal of the CALS Ambassador program to develop student leaders by encouraging members to be an active part of the community through outreach and education. CALS Ambassadors serve as peer mentors to CALS students as well as the “face” of CALS to stakeholders and prospective students across the state, nation and the world.<br> <br>The CALS Ambassador “Cookies and Maps” is an annual event which takes place on the first two days of the fall semester. Ambassadors mingle with students who are on their way to or from class and give away cookies and water as well as having maps to help new (and not so new) students find their classes. Attendance to the “Cookies and Maps” event will be a mandatory for those wishing to apply to the CALS Ambassador program. There is a minimum commitment of one (1) hour at the Cookies and Maps table. My preference would be to have those interested complete their time in no more than two (2) 30 minute shifts, however, in order to accommodate various schedules, the one (1) hour commitment can consist of a minimum of 15 minute intervals and can be spread out over the course of Monday and Tuesday.<br>Only those completing this requirement will be eligible to attend the information session on Thursday August 29th and receive the CALS Ambassador application.<br>“Cookies and Maps” will take place in front of the Forbes Building from7am to 10am on Monday August 26th and Tuesday August 27th. This will help you notice exams and papers that are due on the same day.<br>-If you want to try getting into a closed class:<br> *Contact the department to determine if there’s a waitlist or specific procedure for trying to get into the class.<br> *Keep checking UAccess! Students will be changing their schedules a lot during the week before school starts and the first week of school<br> *Take a <a href="http://registrar.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/Change%20of%20Schedule%20Nov%202011.pdf" target="_blank"><span style='color:#336699'>Change of Schedule form</span></a> to the first day of the class; if the instructor signs it, take it to the Registrar’s Office within 5 days.<br> <br>Books<br>-Save your receipts in case you change classes and don’t open it if it’s plastic-wrapped<br>-Wait until after the first day of class and the syllabus is reviewed to open plastic-wrapped books<br>-You can find your booklist through a link in the right column on your UAccess or through the <a href="http://uabookstores.arizona.edu/textbooks/" target="_blank"><span style='color:#336699'>UA bookstore website</span></a><br>-If you buy your books online make sure you get the correct edition!
