Hi everyone,
While not much was released at the CRC meeting, here's an update on what was shared regarding Fall 2026 recruitment:

Applications

  * The Main Campus application for Summer/Fall 2026 (domestic and international undergraduates) opened today.
  * The Slate application will now mirror the Common Application, with most information staying consistent.
  * GPA will still be self-reported (they're exploring AI to assist with data entry). This applies to international, too.
  * The essay and activities sections are optional but encouraged.
  * Applications will be reviewed holistically, and no GPA minimum was announced.

Events

  * Recruitment event details have not yet been shared. We do not know if there will be Open Houses or Admitted Student Day.
  * We do know events will be smaller and more personalized this year.

Database

  * Admissions will now use two platforms:
     * Future Wildcat: for students before committing/paying the enrollment fee
     * Next Steps: for students after committing and paying
        * Students will not be able to sign up for housing, academic connection dates, etc., until their enrollment fee is paid.

Dates and deadlines

  * Applications for Fall 2026 are now open.
  * Early Action for first-year students is November 1. Applying by this date ensures consideration for most merit scholarships and Honors.
  *   Commitment deadlines:
     *   First-year students: May 1, 2026
     * Transfer students: June 1 to apply, July 1 to commit
  * Exceptions will be made for students who receive their admission decision less than two weeks before deadlines.

Changes

  * No application fee waivers unless demonstrating financial hardship.
  * Enrollment fees are non-refundable once paid.
  * The W.A. Franke Honors application will be integrated into the main campus application (checkbox to indicate interest), requiring essay and activities sections.
  * Scholarships have an actual budget pool that will be competitive. Not all candidates will receive aid based on GPA like previous years.

Enrollment goals

  * Enrollment goals are still being determined. Kris Wong Davis will work with deans to set targets.
  * There was mention of potential college-specific caps, but no further details are available yet. These will all be determined in conversations with deans.

Please continue to refer prospective students to me and Lauren.

Thank you for your support, as we learn more about the changes this year. I will continue to send updates as we know more.

If you have any questions, please reach out.
