[Agvisors] Wishing Danielle Flink Success on Her New Journey!

Hi CALES partners,

It is with both excitement and a bit of sadness that I share the news that our wonderful teammate, Danielle Flink, has accepted a remote position as Manager, Business Intelligence and Operations with Northern Arizona University. This is a new position within NAU Academic Affairs where she will lead a team of analysts to create a strategic data infrastructure to support student-serving positions with proactive outreach, assess the effectiveness of efforts, and identify gaps in service to improve student progress.

Danielle joined the Career and Academic Services (CAS) team in December 2019 as a Student Success and Retention Specialist. Even during the challenging times when most of us were working remotely, Danielle built strong and impactful connections within CALES and across campus. Her contributions go far beyond what I can capture here, but highlights include her leadership in our retention outreach efforts, CALES Pulse, the SALT Center partnership, the CALES Annual Student Survey, Finish Line Awards, eSMS and Trellis onboarding, the CAS Return on Investment project, numerous assessments and countless ad hoc reports. Each of these initiatives, along with so many others, has centered on one goal: Ensuring CAS is the most effective and student-focused resource we can be.

Additionally, Danielle has made an incredible impact across campus. As a participant in the highly selective and inaugural Office of Assessment & Research Assessment Community of Practice last year, and as a coach this year for the Assessment Institute, she’s shared her expertise far and wide. Danielle is also a member of numerous working groups and committees such as the Student Data Network and the Academic Advising Assessment Committee. I’ve personally gained so much from working closely with Danielle, and I’m deeply grateful for the dedication, wisdom, and camaraderie she has brought to our team.

Her last day in the office will be Wednesday, October 23. In her commitment to student success, Danielle has agreed to teach her CALS 195A course through December.

I can imagine that many of you have questions about where her great work in CAS will go from here. Jim Hunt or I will be in touch soon with more information.

Danielle, from all of us: Thank you. This is such an exciting next step in your career, and we couldn’t be happier for you. Thank you for being an exceptional teammate, pal, and human. CALES is better because of your hard work, and your presence will be greatly missed.
