Hi Agvisors,

Happy almost-Friday! I know some of you have expressed interest in volunteering for the NACADA Region 10 Conference in March in Tucson. See an opportunity below about hosting networking sessions. The sessions can be truly anything you’d like. Some others will be doing at conference are a games room, “Stich & Tell” (crafting session while talking with advisors), grad students, etc.

Reach out to Kathryn Gallien (cc’d) if you have any questions.

Best,
Bre

Subject: Would you be willing to host a networking session?

Hi Bre!

As I mentioned in the meeting today, I’m serving as the networking chair for this year’s Region 10 NACADA Conference. You mentioned you have some advisors in CALES who would like to volunteer and could run rooms. Would any of them be willing to host their own networking sessions?

The networking sessions are scheduled for March 21 and March 22 from 10:30am to 11am, with 7 sessions happening simultaneously on each day. The networking session times do not conflict with any of the conference presentation times.

Networking sessions are intended to be informal opportunities for advisors to chat or interact on a topic of the host’s choosing.

What you’re bring asked to do?
A 30-minute informal conversation or activity around wellness. All networking sessions will be held from 10:30-11am either on March 21 or March 22. They do not overlap with any conference presentations.

You can provide some structure for the 30-minute session (e.g., pre-written questions, supplies) or it can be completely free-form.

What we need:

  1. A title
  2. A super-duper short (maximum of 135 words!!) abstract from you about the session you will lead. You can see other sessions and abstracts here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nR9DoDjdoNXbXNY0Z9WMFIeJqHWoSgIupDiFp8QqYrQ/edit?usp=sharing

If you or someone else can host a session, let me know! 😊

Best,
Kathryn
