[Agvisors] Call for Agvisors Professional Development Committee Members!

Hello Agvisors!

Thank you to everyone who filled out the When2Meet! For the Fall 2024 semester, we will be having our Professional Development Committee meeting on Fridays at 11AM. Meetings will land on the off weeks of Agvisors, we will be finalizing these days during our first meeting. The recurring calendar invite will be sent to everyone who completed the When2Meet shortly. If you did not complete the poll and would like the calendar invite, please let us know!

Our first meeting of the academic year will be on Friday August 30th.

We look forward to a great year of growth, development and fun! Please let Dari or me know if you have any questions!

Hello Agvisors!

We hope you are doing well! As the 2023-2024 year wraps up, Dari and I want to thank Teresa Cortez for leading the 2023-2024 PD Committee graciously! As the new Professional Development Committee co-chairs for the upcoming year, we also want to take a moment to invite anyone who is interested in joining the Professional Development Committee for 2024-2025!

Why join the Professional Development or PD Committee?

*Representation - Regardless of if you just started advising or have worked in a student facing position for many years, PD Committee wants as many voices as possible and ideas from all perspectives to help guide our initiatives!

*Activities - Design, organize, and facilitate fun activities and professional development opportunities! Such as our Share Series, potlucks, and other activities we plan to introduce in the new year!

*Advocating for the Profession - Opportunity to develop new initiatives that will make Academic Advising and Student Support Services among CALES and UA excel in the advising profession!

Interested in joining? Please fill out the When2Meet below so we can take your availability into consideration when planning our future meetings! We are currently meeting on a monthly basis, alternating between Agvisor meetings, but this is subject to change based on current and new member availability.

Haven't used When2Meet before?

Step 1: Add your name to the "Sign In" and select Sign In (Password is optional)

Step 2: A RED box will appear with times and days. Select what times work for you and they will change to GREEN.

Step 3: You should see your availability added to the "Group's Availability."

Step 4: Once done, close tab. When2Meet automatically saves your results, you do not need to submit anything.

Steps to Joining Drop-In Hours (In-person or Via Zoom)

  1.  Check in using this form<https://forms.office.com/r/F1d1uHkwEm>.
  2.  If you are in-person:

     *   Please make sure that you are at the Animal and Comparative Biomedical Science Building (1117 E. Lowell St.) before submitting your form.
     *   Once you have submitted the check-in form, please either wait in the ACBS Advising Center or ACBS Lobby and an advisor will call you when they are ready.

  1.  If you are on Zoom:

     *   Complete the form and then join this Zoom Room: https://arizona.zoom.us/j/95439004392
     *   An advisor will admit you from the waiting room when they are ready.
