Subject: Finalizing Schedule for Success Cohort for Fall 2024 - CALES (UAGSC)

Hi Nancy and Serena!

I hope you both are well and gearing up for the first day of school!

First off, I wanted to say a huge thank you to both and your team for all of the hard work to make sure our students were taken care of during this orientation cycle and as we look ahead to fall. I know there have been A LOT of changes with MATH 100 capacity issues, the implementation of MATH 196B for students with no placement and updating students' schedules throughout the summer in preparation for fall. We cannot say it enough - thank you! Thank you for all you do to support Schedule for Success and our shared students.

As I look ahead to the new semester, I am working on confirming our cohort of students for Schedule for Success. My hope is that catching these students earlier than later will relieve a little bit of stress for everyone. Every week, I will be conducting an audit (likely Thursday or Friday) in this shared spreadsheet: https://arizona.box.com/s/kz7q1ftjodk8tcrx2cl2ptcwo1fo35a5. This spreadsheet is specific to CALES and have been flagged due to the one of the following reasons:

  *
Enrolled in fewer than 12 units OR enrolled in more than 16 units
  *
Not enrolled in Math 100 (Placement) or MATH 196B (No Placement)
  *
Not Enrolled in SAS 100AX
  *
Only enrolled in MATH 100 & SAS 100AX
  *
Enrolled in a math class that is NOT MATH 100/196 but do not have placement updated in the system.

Within the CALES Spreadsheet, I will add a new tab each date the report is pulled (example: today's is listed is 08.02.2024. Next week the updated tab would have 08.09.2024). Please feel free to add any notes that might be helpful or relevant (cancelled admission, change of major, etc.). We will reply to this email with an update so no need to search your inbox for a link! I added you both to the CALES spreadsheet but please let me know if you need anyone else added as well.

Our team will plan on doing this up until September 12th at 5 p.m. My goal is to get Schedule for Success students taken care of by then and our cohort confirmed by September 13th at 5 p.m.

I also wanted to let you know that I will be out on Maternity Leave starting late August (or earlier if baby decides for himself 😉) throughout the fall semester. I tentatively plan to return to work in January 2025. In the meantime, you are in excellent hand with Amanda Keefe and Hannah Douglas who will be sending these updates and checking in on students of concern. Please feel free to reach out to scheduleforsuccess at arizona.edu with any questions or concerns. I am around as long as I am around so please let me know how I can support you as well!

Thank you again for everything and I look forward to working with you again in the future. We're in the home stretch of Orientation,
