RSVPs are required for both Senior Sendoff and CALES Graduation Convocation. Students need to complete their RSVP on behalf of themselves and their guests by Sunday, December 3 at 11:59 pm (AZ time). All information can be found here: https://cales.arizona.edu/cales-graduation-convocation

Ticket distribution will occur during the week of December 11th. All information can be found on the website.

In this email you’ll find an overview of the CALES Graduation Convocation processes so you can assist graduating students this fall! Thank you in advance for reading this lengthy email.

Overview of CALES Graduation Celebrations:

CALES Senior Sendoff

Thursday, December 14

11:30 am – 1 pm | Bear Down Gym Floor

·        Optional event where students can jumpstart the graduation celebration!

·        Students (and up to four guests) will enjoy a meal, well wishes from College leadership, and receive their senior gifts!

·        All students graduating in CALES are welcome (ugrad & grad)

·        RSVP required. No regalia required.



CALES Graduation Convocation

Friday, December 15

9 – 11 am| Centennial Hall

·        Optional event where students get their name called and move across the graduation stage.

·        Tickets required for all guests (10 tickets per graduating student to start).

·        RSVP required for students (students will RSVP on behalf of their guests).

·        Regalia required to participate.



RSVP Information:

RSVPs are required for both Senior Sendoff and Graduation Convocation. There are two separate RSVP forms (students can attend one, both, or neither of these events!)



Students need to RSVP for both themselves and their guests (this assists with planning purposes and ticket distribution). Both RSVP forms will be accessible via the website and inside of student inboxes soon.



RSVP forms will be open starting Monday, November 6 (in the morning) through Sunday, December 3 at 11:59 pm (AZ time).



Ticket Information:

Centennial Hall requires tickets for all guests (not graduating students). Students are responsible for accurately reporting the number of guests they will have in attendance and collecting said amount of tickets prior to the ceremony. We begin with 10 tickets per student. Students can collect more than 10 tickets, if needed. They will be asked this during their registration for Graduation Convocation.



Ticket distribution will occur in December. No tickets are required for Senior Sendoff.



Request to Participate:

Students from all campuses - Main, Arizona Online, and Distance - graduating in the semester/term of January/Winter 2023 are automatically invited to the CALES Graduation Convocation.



What if students graduating/did graduate in a different semester and want to walk this December? Students must complete the request to participate form by Sunday, November 26 at 11:59 p.m. to ensure their name appears in the print program and we have their information. This information is on the website.



Student Communications:

All students who are eligible to graduate (plus, the ones who complete the Request to Participate form), will be added onto the special edition Graduation Newsletter. This newsletter will be sent multiple times prior to our celebrations with information about RSVPs, event expectations, and need-to-knows.



Staff Volunteer Information:

We need your support to make graduation celebrations a success! Please be sure we have at least one representative from your unit for Graduation Convocation on December 15. Please sign-up to volunteer by Sunday, December 3 at 11:59 pm.<https://forms.office.com/r/xvPwyJjAHq>



Student Speakers:

We are in search of student speakers for both Senior Sendoff and Graduation. Do you know a spectacular student who wants to share their story at these milestone events? Encourage them to apply through the website under “Apply to be a Student Speaker!”



Please do not hesitate to send students my way who have questions or concerns. I appreciate your support and all you do to get our students to this point. More information will be forthcoming for those of you who plan to volunteer. 😊
