[Agvisors] Jan. 9 Orientation Information - Preschedules, Writing Placements and more

Greetings Agvisors team:

Happy Monday! The January 9 new student orientation preschedules and modification requests may be accessed in Box<https://arizona.box.com/s/xbwqyvudw6vkvjua6y5i1hxl3d94wqes>.  Please note, as of Sunday evening ENGL101, 101A and UNIV101 sections are unavailable, but there may be openings by Monday afternoon when students can modify their own schedules.  None of the 7 students are enrolled in UNIV101 and approximately half are not enrolled in an ENGL composition class.  Students that may still need to take the placement assessments should be referred to their Next Steps Center portal.   Writing placement information is shared below and student placement details are saved in Box<https://arizona.box.com/s/y5oxwcgob2chy5ix50l0g8k34yjp1wq4>.

Destination Arizona for all new students starting this Spring term will take place on Tuesday Jan. 10. Overview of the program can be found online<https://orientation.arizona.edu/destination-arizona/spring-overview>.  For reference, this information has been sent to students on behalf of the new student orientation team, and we also inform them at the Academic Unit meeting (college meeting) the day of the orientation. Students can also find further information on their Next Step Center portal. The Academic Component (Next Stop CALS) will be from 10:30-11:30am at the SUMC Sabino Room.  Serena will continue to share further.

Hi all,

Please find attached the writing placements for tomorrow's orientation. Remember: If you have an international student who very recently took the iFWE and has a 106.9, these need to be reviewed by the placement team. We do these daily throughout the first week of the semester in order to get students into their classes. Please be patient with us!
