Greetings CALS colleagues, candidate Abigail Cox scheduled at 2:15pm today has withdrawn her application. On a positive note, she shared kinds remarks on what she had learned about the college and team.

This afternoon, if not Wednesday morning I'll send the link to the presentation recordings for all to have opportunity to provide feedback.

Greetings CALS colleagues:

On behalf of the search committee for the Academic Advisor positions in CALS, you are invited you to join virtual presentations with each of the six finalists for these important roles.  Advisors will be supporting students declared in Plant Sciences; Sustainable Plant Systems, Applied Biotechnology, Entomology and/or seeking major exploration. The advisor will work cross-functionally with the departments to support student experiences and assist with college-wide programs and services. This includes assisting students holistically utilizing developmental and strengths-based learning strategies. Advisors play a key role as a team player in the delivery of the following retention strategies: student success courses for CALS incoming students and those with academic eligibility statuses; new student orientations; student events; recruitment; and outreach activities. The advisors will work in close collaboration with faculty and staff in multiple CALS units inclusive of Career and Academic Services

The finalists have been asked to prepare a 15 minute presentation on one of the following prompts:

1. Presentation on promoting school-life balance. Target audience: first year students

2. Presentation on a proposed student retention initiative for first generation students. Target audience: peers and college administrators

3. Presentation to undeclared students on how to explore major options. Target audience: first and second year students
