Hi All,

I checked in with Mark Barton directly. The threshold is still $2,500 to receive the BAR registration hold. They do not advertise that fact, though. It can be confusing to students and families. Once a student has gone over the threshold and receives the BAR Bursar's will try to work with them to get the balance paid off. They will avoid all other holds and penalties. Mark said they have had students and even some staff, who have believe that $2,500 of their balance will be waived or forgiven, which is not the case. They have also had students who pay to get below $2,500 and another small charge puts them back over the threshold. Mark will follow up with Ritu to clarify, she is new to the Bursar's Office and the University.

Hi all,

At the meeting on Monday, a few of you shared that past due balance - no add holds were going on any student, regardless of balance size.

I just worked with a student today - she paid her bill down to $2490 and the hold came off automatically and instantly in UAccess. So, it appears the $2500 threshold is still accurate and active.

I don't know if there are other nuances we need to know about, but I thought I would share.
