We wanted to provide clarification that the Focus Group session on February 25th from 2 - 3 p.m. is dedicated to students. Greetings!

As you may know The Office of Orientation & New Student Services is in the midst of Destination Arizona (DAZ) planning for August 2022! Our office wants to create and foster programs and events that will engage and excite students prior to the start of classes. One program that you might have heard us mention is a Reader's Theatre program facilitated through Uncommon Programs<https://uncommonprograms.com/>.

Our goal is to create a program that asks students to take responsibility for themselves, and work toward creating a respectful, caring Wildcat community. Throughout this presentation we hope to incorporate the mission and values of our institution and ask our community to hold one another to the highest standards of respect and civility. This powerful program uses pop culture references, multimedia components, current news clips and the strongest voice of all - our own students - to make an impact. Using student leaders from our own campus as key parts of the program helps empower our community to address these difficult and timely issues. The structure of the presentation ensures that the conversation will continue long after the program has ended.

Carrie Zimmerman, our consultant, and founder of Uncommon Programs will be creating a custom Reader's Theatre script and Small Group Facilitation Activity for our institution. With help from ONSS, Carrie has requested to meet with campus partners and students to aid in creating the program to ensure that it matches the needs of our institution.

Our staff has identified you as someone who would be a good fit for our Reader's Theatre Focus Group. This would be a one-time commitment for an hour meeting with Carrie and the other members of the Focus Group to help her identify what makes a strong Wildcat community. Please refer below for your focus group date.

Faculty & Staff Focus Group: Thursday, February 17, 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Student Focus Group: Friday, February 25, 2 p.m. - 3p.m.
