Hi Sara and AAC list,

The question you asked regarding doubling counting between G.E. and major/minor was appreciated and shared with others.  Here's the response for Susan Miller-Cochran in G.E. Program :
No, the math foundations credits do not count as part of the 9 possible double-dipped units. We might want to revise the policy to read that students can double count 9 units of BC and EP courses toward a major (to distinguish from Foundations requirements); math foundations courses don't fit into BC and EP typically. For example, if a student has to take Calculus for an Engineering major, and it also fulfills math foundations, they still can double dip 9 other credits.

Thus, students matriculating Spring 2022 and beyond have the option to double count 9 units between courses taken for EP and/or BC in G.E. and courses for major and/or minor.  Foundations courses are not counted in the double counting between G.E. and major/minor.
