[Agvisors] CALS Career Center Updates

Hello Advisors!

You may already be aware that Valeria’s last day with the career center is today. She begins a new role as an academic advisor in the Department of Computer Science on Monday. I am very happy for her and wish her great success!

Please refer any students that need support to me. They can make an appointment on Handshake or send me email. The virtual career center - career.cals.arizona.edu - is also a very valuable resource.

The CALS Career Fairs start next week. All of them are 4-6pm and these are informal sessions for students to learn more about the companies and potentially schedule a follow up interview. Companies are specifically looking for CALS students so please encourage students to attend. Also these are not major aligned groups, they are interest based so no matter the major students should attend if they have interest in these career areas. Students need to sign up on Handshake and will get the zoom link sent to them. Companies are looking for grad and undergrad students and have internship and full time opportunities.

Here is the line up:
10/21 - Ag, Science, and Tech
10/22 - Environment and Sustainability
10/25 - Health and Helping Professions
10/26 - Business and Commerce

I have been doing many class presentations lately and this is a great way to connect with students where they are. If your unit has courses where a career prep conversation would be valuable please know I am available.
