Hello,
My name is Deja Taggart and I am looking for current University of Arizona students to participate in my honors thesis research project, “Psychological Impact on Forced Online Learning for College Students”.
The purpose of this study is to observe the change in motivation for university students as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The current research is based on taking online courses by choice. There is a lack of information regarding the management of stress and motivation. In these uncertain times, it is important to look at all the different aspects of online learning during highly stressful times. Completing a degree outside of a global pandemic is hard enough, now students all over the globe are having to navigate through quarantines, moving back home, study in less than ideal environments, and more.
The findings of this study will provide possible introspection on views of education during global pandemics. It may also provide valuable information to educators and others who may have been impacted by the pandemic.
To be eligible for participation, participants must
- Be a currently enrolled University of Arizona student
- Be 18 years or older
Your responses will be completed in an anonymous, online survey that is anticipated to take 2-5 minutes to complete.
Here is the link to the survey: https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3mbGG18jeAnDZXg
The only anticipated risk is a breach of confidentiality. We will use de-identifiable data and anonymous responses to minimize the risk.
An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at The University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.
