Dear Campus Colleagues,
I am reaching out to you because I know that you/your area do critically important work to support students and I want to make sure you are equipped with helpful information as we prepare to enforce mandatory student testing<https://covid19.arizona.edu/mandatory-testing> through access to Main Campus UA WiFi beginning the week of February 15.
Compiled below are helpful resources and a selection of the most common FAQs. I hope that you/your staff will find this information useful as we prepare for the possibility of increased questions related to mandatory testing and UA WiFi access - please feel free to share with your staff.
We are hopeful that a creative combination of incentives and consequences (each discussed below) will lead to increased compliance with mandatory testing, an important measure to protect our entire community.
If you have questions about the roll out, please feel free to contact me at robie at arizona.edu<mailto:robie at arizona.edu>, or my colleague Amy Glicken at aglicken at arizona.edu<mailto:aglicken at arizona.edu>.

WIFI FAQs
How long after I take a COVID-19 test will I be able to access UA WiFi?
Your access to UA WiFi will be restored within 60 minutes of taking a test, regardless of the result.
Do I need to wait for my test result before my WiFi access is restored?
No, your UA WiFi access is not impacted by your test result. Access to UA WiFi is restored simply by checking into a Test All Test Smart test center with the QR code on your Wildcat OneStop<https://onestop.wellcheck.arizona.edu/>. This process can take up to 1 hour.
I took a test but I'm still not able to connect to UA WiFi. Why?
First, you must completely disconnect from all WiFi. Once you are disconnected, select UA WiFi in order to reconnect.
I took a test within the past 8 days. Why isn't my WiFi working?
If you have changed your UA NetID password recently, ensure that you have changed it on all devices. If this does not work, contact the 24/7 Support Center at (520) 626-8324 or Live Chat 24/7 Support Help<https://support.arizona.edu/>
I have done troubleshooting with the 24/7 Support Center and my WiFi still isn't working. What should I do?
Contact the Testing Call Center, Monday-Friday 9 am - 5 pm, 520-848-4030, UACOVID-19Testing at arizona.edu<mailto:UACOVID-19Testing at arizona.edu>. Be prepared to share your NetID and the date of your last test.
I urgently need to complete a class assignment before I am able to test. What are my options?
1. Connect to the UAGuest WiFi network. After selecting the UAGuest network, you must establish an account by entering a username and phone number. Please note that UA Guest is an unsecured network. Do not send private information such as credit card numbers over this network.
2. Hit the Wifi Snooze Button
* Hitting the Snooze Button will extend your UAWiFi access for an additional 3 hours, giving you time to complete a critical assignment or exam.
* Students will ONLY be able to hit the Wifi Snooze Button 3 times during the semester.
* Students should hit the Wifi Snooze Button ONLY to avoid an emergency when WiFi is necessary to complete a critical assignment or exam.
* Claim one of your WiFi Snooze Buttons by visiting: https://testing.wellcheck.arizona.edu/wifi-snooze
* Once you have hit the WiFi Snooze Button, disconnect from all WiFi. Once you are disconnected, select UA WiFi in order to reconnect.
Will my access to desktop computers at the Libraries or OSCR computer labs be impacted?
No. Only Main Campus UA WiFi is impacted.
TESTING FAQs
Who is required to test?
* Students living in dorms are required to test weekly (once every 7 days). This requirement may be adjusted as we continue to monitor wastewater data and other public health metrics.
* Students coming to Main Campus for in-person or flex in-person classes are required to test weekly (once every 7 days)
* Students who come to campus for other needs are required to have tested within the previous seven days of when they visit campus.
I already tested positive. Am I required to test?
Based on CDC guidance, students with a positive PCR or antigen test will be exempt from mandatory testing for 90 days. Participation in regular testing will resume at the end of the 90 day period. If your positive test result was received from a UArizona test site (Test All Test Smart or Campus Health), your 90-day exemption will be granted automatically. If you tested positive at an off campus testing site, you must upload your off-campus test result<https://health.arizona.edu/uploading-your-campus-covid-19-test-result> for review by Campus Health. At this time, negative results from an off-campus provider cannot be used to satisfy the mandatory testing requirement.
I have received a COVID-19 vaccination. Am I required to test?
Students who are required to participate in mandatory COVID-19 testing are eligible to receive an exemption two weeks after receiving their second/final dose of the vaccine. To receive this exemption, you must submit documentation of full COVID-19 vaccination. The exemption applies for the Spring 2021 semester. Upload Vaccine Document<https://health.arizona.edu/covid-19-vaccine-document-upload>.
I have tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies. Am I required to test?
Currently, students with a positive antibody test must still participate in mandatory COVID-19 testing. We are working closely with our internationally recognized experts who oversee the University's antibody testing program and we look forward to providing an antibody exemption soon.
How do I request a testing accommodation?
Students may request a COVID-19 testing accommodation by completing a request for a reasonable accommodation<http://testing.wellcheck.arizona.edu/testing-requirement>. The completion of this form is a request for a COVID-19 testing accommodation and is subject to review and approval.
I am registered for in-person courses but I have arranged with my instructor(s) to participate remotely. Am I required to test?
If you are visiting the main campus for any reason, you must participate in mandatory COVID-19 testing. However, if you have arranged with your instructor(s) to participate 100% remotely and you are not spending time on campus for any other reason, you can complete the Remote Learning Declaration<http://testing.wellcheck.arizona.edu/testing-requirement>. Once your remote learning status is verified with your instructors, you will not be required to participate in mandatory COVID-19 testing.
I am a graduate student. Am I required to test?
All students, including graduate students, who are enrolled in in-person courses, live in on-campus housing including La Aldea, and/or are regularly visiting campus must participate in mandatory testing.
I am a part-time/full-time staff or faculty member, and am taking a class or two. Am I required to test?
If your primary role is an employee and you are taking a class or two, you will not be required to test under the mandatory student testing program. If you are a student worker or graduate assistant, you are classified as a student and will be required to participate in mandatory testing. More information on the mandatory employee testing program<https://covid19.arizona.edu/mandatory-testing-employee>.
I am registered for in-person class(es) but we are not currently meeting in-person. Am I required to test?
Mandatory testing is stage-specific. In other words, if you are registered for a class that will meet in-person during Stage 2, you will be required to test when the University enters Stage 2.
Note: Regardless of in-person course enrollment, students living in a dorm are required to test weekly (or more frequently in some circumstances). Additionally, students who come to campus to use services are required to have a test on file in the past week.
REWARDS FAQs
What is the Star Rewards program?
Through April, after you have tested at least once per week four times, you will receive a $5 gift card that you can use at Arizona Student Unions or BookStores. There will be a maximum of four rewards per student, per semester, up to $20 total. If you earn a reward, you will receive instructions on how to claim the gift card through Wildcat OneStop<https://onestop.wellcheck.arizona.edu/>, which is used for testing check-in.
Are there scholarships for testing?
Throughout the Spring 2021 semester, we will randomly select 10 students who have completed their testing requirements to receive a $500 scholarship to be applied this semester, as well as other prizes.
Thank you!
