Spring 2021 OnRamp | Stage Determination & Class Formats | Deadline 11/3
Yesterday, the Provost sent an announcement to Heads, Chairs & Directors (copy here<https://registrar.arizona.edu/sites/registrar.arizona.edu/files/forms/SP21%20OnRamp%20-%20Message%20to%20Heads%2C%20Chairs%2C%20Directors%20-%2010.26.20.pdf>) with the OnRamp process for the Spring 2021 academic term.
The deadline to submit the template is Tuesday, November 3rd at 5pm Arizona time. Templates can be emailed to rcshelp at arizona.edu<mailto:rcshelp at arizona.edu>.
To support this quick turnaround we are hosting a Q & A session with the Office of Instruction and Assessment <https://oia.arizona.edu/> this Thursday – information below:
SP21 Class Stages & Formats
A session for instructors, class schedulers, and department leaders about the Spring 2021 class format and stage determinations. Will include representatives from the Office of Instruction & Assessment.

Spring 2021 Reading Days | Opt-Out Process
Within the announcement<https://view.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=81c7f0be4a6b2797b932628d98132912c03cafc5d6287ab17738ec7d6dadf93f984b6a949d2a450cc1716df43deaee321b95719142b0a300296b8228c07b160e0a828f78ca6366996394146103d72bc3> that Spring Break will be replaced by a number of Reading Days, it is expected that a limited number of classes will need to meet on Reading Days to stay in sync across all sections.
These requests should be limited to:

  1.  Laboratory or studio classes that require significant setup or require to meet in consistent pattern across sections to stay in sync.
  2.  Practicum type classes that otherwise would not have followed the traditional Spring Break schedule (i.e. – Student Teaching)
We will utilize section forms <https://rcs.registrar.arizona.edu/rcscourseforms2.0/FormOptions.aspx> for this opt-out process. Summer & Fall 2021: Open Scheduling
Departments have access beginning today to start updating the Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 Schedule of Classes.  To account for the significant changes that were made to the Summer and Fall 2020 schedule, we have rolled forward the 2019 schedule to 2021.
Please review the information and timelines below.
Items to be Resolved for Fall and Summer 2021:
Additional Classes to Add
To help identify classes the differences between 2019 and 2021, term based reports Summer<https://registrar.arizona.edu/sites/registrar.arizona.edu/files/forms/2202%20to%202212%20Roll%20Requests.xlsx> | Fall<https://registrar.arizona.edu/sites/registrar.arizona.edu/files/forms/2204%20to%202214%20Roll%20Requests.xlsx> have been created and processing instructions can be found here<https://arizona.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=9d18bd00-0838-4e03-a871-ac61017190cb>.

If you would like additional sections added en masse; we need the following from you:

  1.  Denote in the spreadsheets whether the class from 2020 (class did not exist in 2019) should be added to the 2021 Schedule of Classes
  2.  Re-name the spreadsheets and return them to rcshelp at arizona.edu<mailto:rcshelp at arizona.edu> by November 9, 2020
  3.  Keep a copy of the spreadsheet in your files for reference so you do not re-create the same course(s) you’ve requested to be added through the spreadsheet process


Global Direct Sections
These sections have been included in Fall 2021 schedule; however, the term roll process does not place the course into a combination. Please combine Global Direct sections where appropriate.

Instructor Updates
We have heard from many department schedulers that they would like the option to mass remove instructors from classes that have rolled.  We have created this request form<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=BVXjXo7rKUmTfWRd9QEyiEGWY3P1wuJAj5-9kZQxeghUOEY2T05HRk1CSVBVMTNFRkpYVDFMSk9EWiQlQCN0PWcu> for that process.

Priority Scheduling Request Form:
We have developed a new process for priority scheduling requests.  Use this form<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=BVXjXo7rKUmTfWRd9QEyiEGWY3P1wuJAj5-9kZQxeghUMURKWVY0MURZQkpFN0IxRUk4M0xKQUFQOSQlQCN0PWcu> to submit your requests by December 1, 2020.
Common Final Exam Request Form:
We have developed a new process to request common final exams.  Use this form<https://registrar.arizona.edu/sites/registrar.arizona.edu/files/forms/common-final-request-10.27.20.docx> to submit your request by December 1, 2020.
