[Agvisors] Free WiFi option

Hi all,
Unfortunately this isn't as good as it sounds.  It is dependent on your circumstances-see the note from one of our students below.

I just applied for the Comcast/Xfinity one but my application for their "Internet Essentials" service was not approved because I do not receive services like TANF and SNAP. I called the number for Charter/Spectrum and their service is not provided in my zip code. I thought the Xfinity wifi hotspots would work because I can reach one from my apartment, but after calling them I think only certain hotspots (ones in parks and other public places) are the ones you can access for free.

If it sounds too good to be true.....
But hopefully it will work for some.

Free Internet

Charter Communications, Spectrum's parent company, announced Friday that beginning March 16, it will make its services available for free for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who don't already have internet through the company. Installation fees will also be waived for new student households. It also said it would open its Wi-Fi hotspots for public use. The company has 29 million customers in 41 states. Comcast is offering two months of complimentary free broadband services to low-income families and students. Comcast and T-Mobile have announced suspensions of their internet data cap policies in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Comcast says it will no longer charge overage fees for home internet customers that go over its broadband data caps, while T-Mobile says it's removing all data caps for its mobile customers. AT&T and Verizon have taken similar measures.
