We need computers that have enough power to work in Zoom, the UA Box, UAccess, Search the UA internet sites, Excel, and Trellis all at the same time. I believe that my personal Surface has the same power as a Chrome book, and Brian can correct me if I am wrong; they do not have enough computer power to run all of these systems at once.

Greetings Agvisors team,
Dava, thank you for the details. The survey question with check all that apply was updated shortly after it was sent, but a few advisors had submitted their responses. Apologies on the confusion.
We have some Chromebooks with webcam functionality available in Forbes 203. Would your device plus a Chromebook allow you to be fully functional to have zoom and phone availability for students and potential zoom meetings?
CAS advising unit in Forbes 203 will be open until 5pm today Friday (3/13) to get a loan Chromebook. We will also hold more virtual zoom and phone appointments, and drop-ins via Trellis for the next couple of weeks at least through April 6. Next week we will have in person availability through Tuesday 3/17 and case by case basis after that. CAS advising team will be available during regular business hours Monday-Friday via Skype IM, email at advising at cals.arizona.edu<mailto:advising at cals.arizona.edu>, zoom drop-ins at https://arizona.zoom.us/j/671801589 and by phone at 520-621-3616. Serena will send a tutorial to Agvsiors on how students can access the Trellis drop-ins in case they are not familiar with it.
Urgent matters can be referred to me as well at nancyr at email.arizona.edu<mailto:nancyr at email.arizona.edu> or you as the advisor may text me as a nudge at 520-245-5692 (not for student distribution please). Students may be referred to 520-621-3616 and it will be answered during regular business hours.
Advisors will need VPN access if working remotely regardless of device being used. Instructions on how to access this are below. This will allow access from off campus to UAccess and NetID required programs once connected.
The CAS team is working on messaging for students to be sent out this afternoon. The announcement will be sent to Agvisors as well. Information on availability and resources will also be posted on the CALS website.
Attached are some tips for advisors use. It was created by UA Online professionals and CAS advisors who are used to connecting with students remotely. Hope you find them helpful. We will also be posting updates for Advisors to the D2L CALS Agvisors portal as well as to the agvisors listserv. Do note that the D2L CALS Agvisors discussion section is open for your use for general questions. You are all encouraged to share best practices with each other via the discussion and/or via the agvisors list. Thank you!
Please send an email to advising at cals.arizona.edu<mailto:advising at cals.arizona.edu> with your student availability plans so we are aware should students reach out to the CALS general advising office. We are encouraging as much as possible for students health and our own to connect with us by phone or virtually via zoom, but as aforementioned urgent matters that need in person availability will be taken into account. Overall we want students to continue being served and supported without causing further barriers to their success.
VPN access:
1) The VPN can be accessed and installed from vpn.arizona.edu
2) Once there login with Netid and netid password and secondary password, which is push for Duo or phone for a call
3) This will take you to a website, click on AnyConnect
4) Click Start AnyConnect
5) Download Windows or MAC which every appears for your type of laptop.
6) Download by saving the file
7) Now run it and once complete
8) You will find the Cisco AnyConnect on the Start menu and programs Run it
9) The first time you use it you will need to add this address in the field just left of connect VPN.ARIZONA.EDU
10) You will again, need netid, netid password and the secondary password. After the first time, all but the passwords will be remembered.

Nancy, the form does not allow the person to click on all that applies on the survey. Therefore I am sending an emailalong with completing the survey. I have a personal Surface pro but I don't have the CPU power to run Zoom and Uacess and Trellis at the same time. Therefore I will need a computer with the memory capacity to handle those systems from home. I have high speed internet therefore if I have UA equipment I can function from home.

We know you are all working with your respective units and students in making them aware of the current situation. The CAS team is available to offer support as well. Thank you for responding to the brief survey. This will help the CALS team know what advising plans are in place in case of a more widespread campus closure. If you need access to any chromebooks we have a few to loan with webcam access. With Trellis Advise we all have the functionality of phone and zoom appointments with students.

Further details will be sent as we become aware of them, in particular student messaging. As a follow up to Agvisors meeting, please note that the student messaging regarding advising holds is 'on hold' to not create additional barriers to students.

Due to the delay in start of classes next week by two days; the Office of the Registrar and Office of the Bursar are updating the following deadlines for the 7W2 (Seven Week 2) Session. All other dates for this session remain the same and no other deadline dates have been adjusted at this time. We are working on updating our systems and websites to make these adjusted dates public/operational. We will not be changing the official start date of the session to allow for minimal disruption to students' enrollment status.
