Hi all,

We are still making great progress towards having the mass updates completed in UAccess very soon.  We plan to have the update run tomorrow evening.

Also, the finalized text of the class notes that will be added to all sections (non-Arizona online or Global) are below:

In-Person
**Important Information Fall 2020 – In Person** This class will be offered in a classroom setting, modified for physical distancing and enhanced disinfectant routines. Students will be required to wear face coverings at all times when in the classroom.  Students should be available during all scheduled class meetings.  Students who are unable to come to class due to illness or a need to self-isolate for a period during the semester will be able to stay current with class work via remote or online methods.

Flex In-Person (Hybrid)
**Important Information Fall 2020 – Flex In Person** This class will be structured to allow students to participate via a mix of in-person and online modes. The exact mix of in-person and online components will be determined by the instructor. Students should check the D2L course site for guidance from the instructor prior to attending the class in-person. Students should be available during all scheduled class meetings and follow all health and safety guidelines. Some components of this class will be offered in a classroom setting, modified for physical distancing and enhanced disinfectant routines.  Students will be required to wear face coverings at all times when in the classroom.   Students who are unable to come to class due to illness or a need to self-isolate for a period during the semester will be able to stay current with class work via remote or online methods.

Live Online (Remote)
**Important Information Fall 2020 – Live Online** This class will be offered in a Live Online format.  Students and instructors will meet simultaneously through an online platform.  Students must be available during all scheduled class meetings, and will require sufficient internet bandwidth to join the classes via video link.  Students who are unable to attend a class due to illness during the semester will be able to stay current with class work via remote methods.

Subject: Schedule of Classes updates

Good evening,

There have been several questions about the class schedule/modality updates; so want to send an update – please let me know if you have any questions/concerns.

  1.  RCS has been manually adjusting those classes that are moving to Live Online so as to recapture the classroom and assign those rooms to other classes that need the larger spaces.
  2.  There will be a mass update (hopefully tomorrow) to update the modality in mass for classes moving to Flex In-Person and other Live Online classes based on the college-submitted plans.
     *   We will also be adding ‘class notes’ to all in-person, flex in-person, and live online classes.
  3.  Early next week we will be mass updating the classes that have an in-person meeting pattern (both in-person and flex in-person) to have the physical classroom meeting pattern to end at the Thanksgiving holiday and to have the same meeting pattern added for after Thanksgiving to Live Online
     *   Thank you to the UITS UAccess Student team for their great partnership in making all of these updates possible!
  4.  The formal instruction mode descriptions for Hybrid and Remote for Fall 2020 term have been updated to:
     *   Hybrid (Flex In-Person)
     *   Live Online
  5.  The description of the Room for 999-REMOTE has been updated to ‘Live Online’
  6.  The following announcement on the Office of the Registrar website<https://www.registrar.arizona.edu/>
     *   The Fall 2020 class schedule is currently being updated to reflect the class format<https://arizona.box.com/s/naaza20u2mrmp3xrs34ufvnzy9nv6ae2> as selected by each academic unit and faculty member – more information will be shared widely once all updates are complete.   7.  A message is being planned to be sent to students soon about the class schedule and class formats.
     *   We are working on a help guide to explain how to review the class schedule to understand the class formats that will be shared as part of this message.
  8.  The fabulous Modernized Student Center is going live this weekend  - below are some samples of what the class schedule will look like with the Fall 2020 class formats/notes.
     *   These are not actually the selected modalities for the CE classes – they just happened to be the classes my sample student is enrolled in so manipulated those sections to highlight the changes.
     *   Please note these are still draft/not final shots of the class notes – please wait until the help guide is available before sending to students.
