Hello Agvisors,

This email is just follow-up regarding questions that Danielle had at our last Agvisor meeting. As a reminder, this is how to do an exception for a course that you are trying to sub in but it was a UA course that was taken prior to second start. Please remember that these are UA courses with a C or better only. Any course with a D under Second Start cannot be used. The question on what will happen if a minor is completed prior to second start and now does not have a GPA is still being investigated and we will let you know as soon as we do. Thank you Danielle for bringing this up. Below is an email with directions on how to do the exception for these courses. I will also save it to the D2L site.

Best,
Amanda

In regards to Danielle attempting to make an exception with a second start course PHIL 323, they'll just need to do one extra step. We did a modification years ago to have Enrollment and Course History exceptions default to a Min GPA of 1.0 so W and E grades would not accidentally fulfill a requirement. This means, it also kicks out Second Start courses because of the lack of GPA weight. To fix, when you make the exception be sure to remove the 1.0 from the Min Grade Points/Units field (see below). Once you do that, the course will pull into the line.
