Hello Agvisors!
I really like that - agvisors - so clever!
I have spent the last few weeks getting oriented to the College and attending several department head meetings with Matt Mars. These will continue and I would like to start meeting with each of you as well. Having been an advisor for many years myself, I am under no illusions that career development happens only, or primarily, in a career center. I know that you are the folks having the really profound conversations with students and offering them guidance as they are navigating their academic and early professional careers. To that end, I want to hear from you.
What has the career center done well? What could be improved? What support can the career center offer you? What would you like to see the career center offer for students? How can we support efforts in your area? What else would you like me to know/would you like to share with me?
I would like to spend 30 minutes (or more - totally your choice) having a very open discussion with you about the career center. I can come to you, you can come to the career center, whatever works best for you. Since I know how busy your schedules are and that registration is just around the corner, I ask you to send me an invite at a time that works for you. My calendar is on outlook so you can see when I am available.
I hope to see you soon and very much look forward to working with you!
Thank you,
Bridget
