Hello again all,

A few advisors have been asking again for a "key" to decipher writing placement scores in UAccess. Please find below a list of the most common scores generated once the student has completed the Foundations Writing Evaluation. If you ever see something that's not in this table, or you're not sure how to interpret, you may always email me!

UAWP 100.1

Student selected ENGL 101A after completing the Foundations Writing Evaluation.

UAWP 101.1

Student selected ENGL 101 after completing the Foundations Writing Evaluation.

UAWP 109.1

Student selected ENGL 109H after completing the Foundations Writing Evaluation.

UAWP 101.0

Student selected the option to follow up with a Writing Placement Advisor before making final course choice (*Student receives an email from us, or speaks with us at Orientation).

UAWP 99.9

Student reported AZ dual enrollment/transfer coursework through the Foundations Writing Evaluation; coursework satisfies the Foundations Writing requirement (if the DE was provided by an AZ community college and student finished both semesters with a C or higher).

UACH 99.9 (FR students)

Student reported AZ dual enrollment coursework during or after orientation (not through the FWE).

UAWP 102.9

Student reported one semester of AZ dual enrollment/transfer coursework OR an AP or IB exam score through the Foundations Writing Evaluation; coursework/exam score satisfies ENGL 101 requirement.

UACH 102.4 or 109.4

Student completed FWE and already had AP/IB qualifying exam scores posted in UAccess (student chooses between ENGL 102 OR ENGL 109H).

UACH 102.8 (typically TR students only)

Student has a transfer course posted in UAccess that has automatically articulated as ENGL 101. ENGL 102 is needed to complete FW requirement.

UACH 101.8 (typically TR students only)

Student has a transfer course posted in UAccess that has automatically articulated as ENGL 102. ENGL 102 is needed to complete FW requirement.

UACH 99.0 (typically TR students only)

Student has transfer courses posted in UAccess that have automatically articulated as ENGL 101 and 102. FW requirement completed.

UACH 99.9 (TR students)

Student has no transfer courses that have automatically articulated as ENGL 101/102. Student has reported taking previous English (writing) courses that may satisfy the FW requirement. Student has been instructed to initiate a review of these courses through the Office of Transfer Credit and Articulation.<https://transfercredit.arizona.edu/content/credit-evaluation>

We now upload default placements for FR students who don't complete the FWE at least 24 hours prior to orientation day. Defaults are posted in UAccess as UAWP 100.0, 101.0, or 109.0.
