The HACU IES Abroad Scholarship<https://www.iesabroad.org/scholarships-aid/hacu-ies-abroad-scholarship> is now open to students who are currently attending a Hispanic-Serving Institution that is a member of Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU - www.hacu.net<http://www.hacu.net/>).

  *   Fall/Academic year deadline: May 1
  *   Spring/Calendar year deadline: November 1

Amount: Summer: Up to $2,500; Semester: Up to $5,000

Eligibility:

  *   Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  *   Apply to/ accepted to and enroll in a summer, semester or academic year IES Abroad program. (J-Term programs are not eligible).
  *   Demonstrate financial need.
  *   Priority given to first generation college students and/or Federal Pell Grant recipients.
  *   Return Requirement: If awarded one of these scholarships, at the conclusion of the IES Abroad program you agree to submit a 1-page statement about your experience abroad, including how it has affected you personally, professionally, and academically and how this scholarship supported your endeavors.  Once submitted, this statement becomes property of IES Abroad and excerpts may be used in any/all IES Abroad electronic and printed publications. Additional details and instructions will be emailed to you after your program ends.
  *   Standard programs only.  Customized programs are not eligible for IES Abroad financial aid.

Oct. 2019

  *   HACU National Internship Program<https://www.hacu.net/hacu/HNIP.asp> Spring 2020 Deadline: October 25, 2019

*        The internships include a biweekly stipend, paid round-trip airfare, housing arrangement assistance, as well as professional development workshops, networking events, and cultural activities.

*        Federal internship sessions are for 10-weeks during the summer and 15-weeks during the fall and spring programs. The location of internships are at federal agencies in Washington, D.C. and field offices nationwide. Federal interns also participate in a two-day orientation in Washington, D.C. *        Corporate internship opportunities are available in the summer. The following are the eligibility and important dates for each session.

o   Eligibility

§  Be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at an accredited institution in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Recent graduates are eligible for a limited number of internships

§  Must have completed freshman year

§  Must be an undergraduate or graduate student

§  3.0 GPA is recommended on a 4.0 scale

§  Be authorized or eligible to work in the U.S.

Spring 2020
Applications are currently being accepted.
Internship dates: Jan. 8 - April 24, 2020
Application deadline: Oct. 25, 2019

Summer 2020
Applications are currently being accepted.
Internship dates: May 28 - Aug. 7, 2020 (Regular Session)
For consideration of U.S. Intelligence Community internships and corporate internships, students must apply by the Early deadline: Nov. 15, 2019.
Regular application deadline: Feb. 14, 2020
Quarter application deadline: Feb. 28, 2020

Fall 2020
Application opens: Jan. 6, 2020
Internship dates: Sept. 3 - Dec. 18, 2020
Application deadline: June 5, 2020
Nov. 2019
