[Agvisors] Scholarships: A thank you, an update, and info!

Hello CAS and Agvisors teams,

First: Thanks to all of your help during this 2019-2020 cycle, ranging from spreading the word to assisting with your department's scholarship committees. Your help makes all the difference in connecting students to much needed scholarship funding.

Second, an update on our progress:

  *   All of the April 1 deadline scholarships have been processed - we have awarded over $900,000 to CALS students for next year! To date, we have given out 1,009 scholarship awards to 632 students.
  *   Because we were able to notify students before they left for the summer, over a third of the winners have already submitted their donor thank you letters. After the thank you letter is submitted, I award the scholarship onto the student's UAccess Student account. To date, almost $340,000 is already showing on student's UAccess accounts!
  *   The only steps left are to process the graduate-only scholarships, which have a deadline of July 1. I will work with departments in early July, the same process with Excel sheets of applicants.

Third, info: If students or families ask about how much CALS has available in scholarships, I feel comfortable updating our official answer to "just over $1 million dollars a year." Feel free to spread the word! That number takes into account the July 1 graduate scholarships.
