[Agvisors] Fwd: [uaac] Open forum to review a new policy for academic intervention - March 14

Greetings Agvisors,

Hope you all had a great week and weekend. This Tuesday Associate Vice Provost Cynthia Demetriou will join the Agvisors meeting at 12pm mainly to talk about the academic intervention policy proposal.  It should also be an opportunity for us as a college to inquire how we can be proactive with the strategic planning from pillar one both her and Roxie Catts co-chaired.

The CALS team welcomes partnerships and collaborations, and having an opportunity to be proactive with future strategic plans will put us in a position for open communication and transparency.

You’re also strongly encouraged to attend the open forum on Thursday 3/14 to also learn university-wide thoughts on the academic intervention policy proposal. Refer to email below for RSVP.

Hello Colleagues,

I write to invite you to a meeting on March 14th to review a new policy for academic intervention. Creating this policy has been a work in progress for over a year. It is a key part of the student success initiatives in the Strategic Plan and our continued work to support students on their path to degree completion. We have gathered detailed feedback from students, faculty and staff. At this meeting we invite all campus partners to come together to review the current policy draft, ask questions, and discuss next steps.

At the meeting we will review:

-          Impact of negative terminology/language on student success

-          Benchmarking

-          Institutional research

-          Strategic Plan Goals related to academic probation

-          Proposed Policy Changes

-          How the current policy impacts students

-          SSRI plans for the intervention
