Hello everyone,

It came to our attention that there are fliers in Chavez (and likely other campus locations) advertising unofficial class schedule assistance for a fee.

We would like your help in addressing this as part of your College Meetings and/or Class Schedule Review so we can get ahead of the issue. We want to make sure that students do not mistake these services with official advising or believe them to be a serviceable alternative.

New Student Services plans to address this directly at Orientation by adding a slide to the UAccess presentation that dissuades new students from services like this and emphasizes that:

*         Only official UA advisors can approve coursework towards degree completion

*         Advisors are trained professionals who do this for a living

*         Students should never pay for advising

Our OWLs will be on the lookout for any additional fliers during Orientation.

Enrollment Management leadership is working with SSRI leadership to determine outreach to the responsible party.
