Hello Agvisors,
The CALS ASEMS team wanted to share the copy we are sending to CALS ASEMS eligible students on their orientation day. To be clear, we are only sending this email to those students who are eligible, and we are sending the email after we have received the updated student list that is sent out after the college meeting.
Additionally, Teresa or I will be tabling at the Forbes during the registration lab to catch students while they are waiting to connect with you all :) We were at the Resource Fair, however it was very unproductive. We also have the same email for Transfer students, however, the times reflect their orientation schedule. If students have any questions at all about the program or the email please feel free to send them to us! Thank you so much for your support.
All our best,
Maya and Teresa

Subject: Happy Orientation Day! Special Invitation to CALS ASEMS Scholars Program
Dear X,
Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences!
Happy Orientation Day!
I am reaching out because your GPA and choice of major have identified you as a promising new student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and you are receiving a special invitation to apply to the Arizona's Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholars program.
The ASEMS program<https://asems.arizona.edu/home> is a prestigious program that started in 2011 and supports students in successfully completing a STEM major. Many of our students are the first in their families to attend college. Students who participate in ASEMS are more likely to succeed academically and graduate with a STEM degree. Participating in the ASEMS Program will also strengthen your academic and research skills, making you more competitive for science careers upon graduation.
We have a host of services and benefits for our students. We encourage you to check out our website: https://asems.arizona.edu/programs
During orientation you will learn more about CALS ASEMS at your College Meeting (from 10:00 am - 11:15 am) and during the CALS Registration Lab in the Forbes building (from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm), make sure to stop by our table in the interview room! I will also be floating around :)
Our program is highly recognized in the STEM community here at the UA, and we truly hope you consider applying.

There are a limited number of openings available and students are accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled. It is recommended that you apply early for best consideration.
At the latest, completed applications should be submitted by 11:59pm on June 30, 2019. We will continue to accept applications after that date only if space in the program remains.
All eligible applicants will be invited to an interview following review of their application. Members from the ASEMS Board of Directors will review application materials and transcripts to make admissions decisions.
*There is no cost associated with being an ASEMS Scholar, only the program requirements.
