Hello Agvisors: Please forward this teaching internship announcement to your students lists. They need 11 undergraduate students to add the class by the first training session next Wednesday at 9 am.

Dear student,

Are you interested in science communication? Do you like kids? How about teaching? Then this teaching internship might be for you!

This 1-credit teaching internship course applies basic science education principles and the fundamentals of critical zone science<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aezWKCQxR5U> towards teaching K-12 students in hands-on Earth Science Discovery workshops at the Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium.

You can choose one of two sections during Spring 2019 semester: Wednesdays or Fridays from 9 am - 12 pm (2 hours of workshop plus 1 hour of setup and tear-down). The course will start with 4 training sessions held from 9 am - 12 pm on Jan 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 25th (recommended for students enrolled in both sections).

Please see the attached syllabus for more information, and this video<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsYhPxuhMTs&t=2s> for more information about critical zone science. You might also be interested in a complementary course, ENVS 270 Critical Zone Science, held TTh 9:30 am - 10:45 pm (if you can't enroll on UAccess, email Kathleen Landeen).

If interested, please email the instructor Rivka Fidel at rfidel at email.arizona.edu<mailto:rfidel at email.arizona.edu> and cc Kathleen Landeen (klandeen at email.arizona.edu<mailto:klandeen at email.arizona.edu>). Please indicate your preference for the Wednesday or Friday section.

Best,
Rivka
