Hello Agvisors,
I wanted to make you aware of a new UA initiative to streamline social media. Below is an email that was sent out to social media managers. If you are interested you can read the thread below. The important piece that I wanted to highlight is the request that we change the names of our social media channels to highlight Arizona. Here are the details:
* Channel handles will be asked to align with either “UAZ_____” or “UArizona____”
* (no underscores, acronyms must use “UArizona_____”)
* Profile picture should be the “Block A,” which can be accessed here<https://brand.arizona.edu/social>.
To be in compliance with the new initiative, I have already changed the CALS Instagram account to @UAZCALS. I will be changing the Facebook and Twitter names within the next week.

Hello social media community!
I am happy to share that we are moving forward with a social media platform across the entire University! The chosen platform is Salesforce Social Studio, which we’ll call Trellis Social. This will be the first communication in a series of emails you will receive that will describe a roll out adoption schedule and on boarding training. We’ll walk you through how everything works and set you up with the tools to be successful!
A couple of reasons for why we’ve decided to implement this platform:
1. It will align with Trellis, our University’s enterprise constituent relationship management (CRM) program and begin to track every communication effort we have with key university partners.
2. Trellis Social will provide an opportunity for us to be more strategic about the number of social channels the University has, therefore increasing visibility, engagement, and quality interactions with key partners. If your channel is not selected to be uploaded into the platform you will still be able to keep it up and running. We will not be deleting channels.
3. No cost to you!
An important distinction is that Trellis Social is priced out by the number of channels, not by the number of users. For example, the main campus has an Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat and two YouTube Channels. This is a total of seven channels. We are allotted 400 in total. That said, we will need to be strategic about how we assign those 400 channels.
We do have unlimited users designated to each channel, which will allow channels not in the platform to create and recommend content for channels within Trellis Social. For example, Housing and Res Life will have a FB, TW, and IG but the individual dorms may not. The managers of the individual dorms can, however, be assigned as a user in the platform and upload their content to the Housing and Res life channels. This will allow funneling of content to a single audience to get better engagement!
Minimum requirements to be an official channel in Trellis Social
* Must have a designated manager and secondary manager.
* Channel handles will be asked to align with either “UAZ_____” or “UArizona____”
* (no underscores, acronyms must use “UArizona_____”)
* Profile picture should be the “Block A,” which can be accessed here<https://brand.arizona.edu/social>.
* Must register your channel with the central social team.
