Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for the email. The AZ Transfer site still has it listed as well as some of the community colleges: https://aztransfer.com/ua/

Content updates may be submitted by department curriculum contacts when curriculum changes are due around November for the following year. The UA advising community is under the impression that degree search may be updated now that degree planner has been discontinued. Further information will be provided as we learn more from the UITS team.

In the interim your suggestions below are appreciated.

Best,
Nancy

Hello Agvisors,

I know the UA Degree search is terrible, and I have been pushing Student Affairs Marketing to do something about it for years. UA has stopped directing students to it, but it still comes up from time-to-time in Google searches. I asked the Student Affairs Marketing group about it, and below is the response. If Degree Search shows up in your Google results, please don't click on it, for reasons explained by Sabra here:

Degree Search has been noindexed, and this does keep Google from crawling the site, but it doesn’t take the site out of results because it had been previously crawled and indexed.

Ryan checked, and it is falling in search results due to the noindexing. (However, the more you click on it in search results the more likely Google won’t move it down.)

Our intention was to keep prospective students from using this site and pushing them to arizona.edu/majors<http://arizona.edu/majors> in the meantime. Our analytics data shows that this is working. We were fully aware that staff would likely keep seeing this in search results since they are the ones likely to be Googling the specific program terms. Unfortunately, we cannot force Google to remove the site until the site is either down or redirected to the new Degree Search.

Thanks!
