Here is a chance to build on a scholarship fund for DACA students at the UA. In the midst of the campus-wide (and nation-wide) discussions about Border Patrol's presence on campus and the definitions of "free speech" and the First Amendment, we invite you to pause with us and remember that college tuition remains expensive for DACA students. In Arizona, DACA students pay nonresident tuition rates at all public Arizona colleges & universities. DACA students also do not qualify for public scholarships or federal financial aid. This puts college out of reach for many DACA recipients. Fortunately, some private scholarships exist, which can help make college accessible.

Join ASUA's first annual DACA Scholarship Benefit Dinner at 5:30pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, in the Sonoran Room of the UA Student Union Memorial Center.

Purchase a seat for yourself. Buy a table for you and seven guests. Sponsor a seat for a student. Make a donation. All proceeds go to the UA President's Directed Scholarship Fund, a private scholarship fund in the UA Foundation that is accessible to UA DACA students. Follow the steps on the attached flyer to register or click this link.<https://www.uafoundation.org/NetCommunity/events/dacabenefitdinner>

Dinner guests will enjoy dinner, an evening of powerful stories, and a silent auction. I hope to see you there.

Best,
Matt
