[Agvisors] Agvisors Meeting Tuesday 11/20 from 11:30am-1:30pm

Greetings Agvisors:

Hope the week went by well for all. Look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 11/20 for the November Agvisors meeting from 11:30am-1:30pm at McPark 402.  Brian Berrellez will be our guest presenter regarding MyEmma (may have other items to present as well).  We also have Dava, Antonio and Nita scheduled to present.  Other agenda topics include orientations, degree map, and retention related initiatives.  Additional agenda items are welcomed.

The Agvisors retreat date is scheduled for 12/11 from 9am-4pm at the Campus Agricultural Center. Further details will be sent in the next couple of weeks.  Expect a productive, informative and fun-filled day.  Multiple guest speakers will be present.

As a follow up to Amanda and Maria’s email from earlier this week and today, this Monday 11/19 we have a Transfer Orientation this year. The last one for Spring 2019 will be on January 7.  Students can be advised right after the college meeting approximately at 12pm.  Initially it had been indicated as 1pm, but as inquired earlier, please inform Amanda if you would like your students to meet with you at ~12pm.  Thanks in advance.

To close, consider submitting a presentation or poster session proposal for the student success conference (see below and attached).  Happy to brainstorm on topics if interested.

Submit a Proposal for the February 2019 Student Success Conference

The purpose of the Student Success Conference is to engage the campus community in a regular discussion of how we teach, guide, and support our students. The conference will highlight innovative approaches to student success across UA as well as spark new ideas and partnerships.

UA faculty and staff are invited to submit a conference proposal <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScxfuV_i2yx-kaIbMh37QyXm_qJJg06g2L5DBVCVBjur_-XDg/viewform> of any topic relating to student achievement and success, including: retention efforts, ways to help students develop a growth mindset, how to foster a sense of belonging on campus, sharing best practices regarding retention and student success, and any other topic related to this scope.

The conference will take place on the UA main campus on February 5, 2019 from 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Proposals are accepted until November 30th.
