Greetings Agvisors,

Today, Tuesday 8/14 we have the final freshman orientation for Fall 2018. General orientation schedule is attached for your reference, with additional information below.

We have a transfer orientation taking place on Thursday 8/16 before successfully completing the orientation season. Any late arrivals post each orientation will be referred to the CALS college advising office at Forbes 203, and to their major academic advisor to schedule an appointment. If you have walk-ins this week to accommodate such requests please have that option noted on the wise advise scheduling system for students.  It is rare to end up with late arrivals but mention this being that the freshmen session this week currently has two students.  We will welcome them as we do all students.  Thanks to all for your assistance in welcoming them to CALS.

As a friendly reminder, UA Clicks is taking place this Friday August 17 which is required of all new freshmen and international students to attend.  Transfer students have all been invited and strongly encouraged to attend.  UA Clicks for CALS is from 10-11:15am at ENR2 N120 followed by the CALS New Student Welcome Event from 12-1:30pm.  Dean Burgess will give closing remarks at the UA Clicks session at 11am, and President Robbins will attend the New Student Welcome Event from 12-12:30pm. You are all welcome to attend, in particular the New Student Welcome Event to mingle with the students – take fun pics at the photo booth/create memories better yet – eat – ‘relax’ before the beginning of the term.  Gabrielle sent an outlook invite to all 😊

  *   Small group assignments (for college reference; current listing of number, sizes, and location of groups prior to College Meetings)
  *   College Meeting Breakout and Class Schedule Review locations for departments/colleges not listed on the schedule

We have 61 students and 32 guests registered for the program. While this is a very small session and will be relatively slow – particularly conference sessions and the Resource Fair – please know that this group, more than any other, benefits from additional time and individual attention due to the proximity of classes. Thank you for participating fully in this program, for assisting our incoming class of Wildcats, and for all of your involvement and hard work throughout the summer!
