Subject: [UPAC] Degree Map

Dear Advisors:

Since 2016, as you know, we have been working with Civitas Learning to bring Degree Map, a degree planning tool, to UA students and advisors.  We have worked hard to help define functionality and testing -- many of you have been involved in early user testing (including the recent validation work).  Degree Map is a much more complex tool in terms of integration with UA systems than any prior Civitas product, and has required a heavy lift to ensure it works for us.

Our goal is to ensure successful adoption of Degree Map.   We have just one opportunity for first impressions, and we want it to be a good one.

While we have made good progress, we believe that it would be in all our best interests to push back our planned launch date of February 2018 until September 2018 to ensure that the tool delivers the core functionality that we need.  Those features include not only degree planning and exploration, but also role-specific access, plan templates, scheduler integration, a test environment, and an administrative panel.

Barring major new issues, we look forward to launching in Fall 2018!  We expect we'll be doing hands-on work with advisors from mid-May/June on days when you're not involved in orientation.
