Dear Advisors:

After conversations with the CLAS deans, Kim Jones, Lynn Nadel, Bobbi McKean, Dave Pietz, and Leticia Soto-Delgadillo, the Provost has decided to move forward to close CLAS and restructure CLAS Advising.  Paperwork will be developed for discussion with ABOR and the faculty senate about eliminating the unit called Colleges of Letters, Arts, and Science, and a task force will be assembled to discuss the restructuring of CLAS Advising.

Please read the attached letter from Andrew to CLAS advisors for some additional ideas about the restructuring.

Please let me know if you have any immediate questions.  We know there is much to be done and to consider, and we will encourage full discussion on campus about the future direction.
