Just so you know we do NOT keep waitlists ever as we let UAccess do it's job. If there are open seats then students can register themselves once Priority Reg starts on Monday, November 14 and through the first week of classes. I would really appreciate it if you would send a list serve message to your undergraduate students as well as your advisors informing then of this. If your students contact our department, the instructor or myself, this is what they'll receive:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding Comm 119, Public Speaking. Please note that Comm 119 may be an OPTION for your major but it is NOT a requirement.
COMM 119, Public Speaking is only available to COMM majors and minors during Priority Registration, however, we will make it available to all UA students during OPEN registration starting Monday, November 14. Please DO NOT contact the instructor, department, advisors or myself as we do NOT keep wait lists. We allow UAccess to do it's job. That said, if there are seats available after Priority Reg (and there usually are many), please feel free to REGISTER yourself as all prerequisites will be removed during OPEN Registration through the first week of classes.
Again, please do NOT contact the instructors as they will just forward your request to me again and I will send you this email again. Thank you for respecting this request.

Good Monday Morning Nancy!
I'm so sorry I could not get a message to you sooner Nancy. It was on my list of things to communicate to you and others last week but I had (and still have) urgent deadlines to complete and I just couldn't get the email out. I don't have computer access at home (that's on purpose btw or I'd worked 24/7). So here's the skinny on the Comm 119 situation.
We have had to re-evaluate how we're handling registration for Public Speaking due to various factors. The bottom line is that ONLY Comm Majors and Minors will be able to register for Comm 119 during Priority Registration . Once Priority Reg is over we are opening it up for ALL UA students to register themselves. Again, I apologize I could not communicate this to you earlier. One of our advisors will be sending a message to UPAC about this today.
If you would please communicate to ALL your advisors in CALS to please tell your students NOT to contact the department or instructors we would appreciate it.
Sorry we had to change things up and I can explain why if you want to call me, it's to detailed for email.
