Hi Agvisors,
Just a friendly reminder that this past Sunday, October 30, was the last day that students could withdraw from a 16 week course on their own in UAccess.
At this time, undergraduate students in the College of Agriculture and Life sciences will need to complete a Late Change Petition in order to be considered for a withdrawal from individual classes. To obtain a Late Change Petition students can visit the front desk in Forbes 203, no appointment is needed. If students have additional questions about the implications of withdrawing or the petition process, Nancy or I would be happy to meet with them.
The Petition requires an instructor's signature, as well as a signed Change of Schedule form, so please send students to us to get the Petition from Forbes 203 before meeting with their instructor. We have many students who get a Change of Schedule form signed by their instructor and then bring it to our office, and then we have to make them go back and meet with their instructor again to get the Late Change Petition signed, so it is easiest if they get the Petition from our office first!
Typically, Late Change Petitions are only approved for extenuating circumstances that prevented the student from withdrawing by the posted deadline. If a student is unsure whether or not they have an extenuating circumstance please encourage them to meet with Nancy or me.
The deadline to submit a Late Change Petition is November 18. After this date, a student would have to meet with Nancy or me to determine if a Petition is possible (an extreme extenuating circumstance would be needed at that time).
Remember that a Complete Withdrawal is an option for all undergraduate students through December 7. Students don't need any instructor or College permissions to complete a Complete Withdrawal, they simply need to fill out the Complete Withdrawal form (by the posted deadline) at this link: http://registrar.arizona.edu/academics/complete-withdrawal-term.
If you work with faculty at all, please make sure they are aware that each college has different procedures for allowing students to withdraw after the deadline, and they need to refer students to their home college advising office to determine those procedures.
Please let Nancy or me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Best,
Kristen
