Dates and Deadlines
May 4, 2016: LAST DAY OF CLASSES. No registration changes can be made after the last day of classes. Last day to file a complete withdrawal, file a $25.00 Late Drop Fee Appeal form, AND file a $250.00 Late Registration Fee appeal.
May 2016 Graduating students-
Check in starts at 7 am by the ZonaZoo entrance (Northwest side of McKale)
Commencement 2016 will be enforcing game-day rules in which all family members and attendees must abide by the UA’s clear bag policy for entry into McKale Center and Arizona stadium. No outside containers, large bags, backpacks, or parcels will be permitted and all in-hand items but be placed in the appropriate and approved clear bag. Peer Assistance for Leadership and Student Success (PALS)
Peer Mentor Program has openings for Fall 2016 and Spring 2017!
Are you interested in sharing your experiences as a student with new CALS students? Do you have a passion for helping people? Are you interested in being part of a college-wide leadership group that will allow you to work with students from across CALS? If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider joining the CALS PALS Peer Mentor program! CALS PALS Peer Mentors earn 3 units of internship units and obtain an official UA engagement experience notation on transcript.
The Peer Mentor program - CALS PALS
is designed to allow participants to develop advanced skills in building rapport and individual coaching. Peer mentors utilize leadership, communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills, as well as relationship skills to assist CALS students with the adjustment required for a successful transition to the University. Peer Mentors receive on-going training and coaching by attending weekly meetings. Mentors learn to provide support, information and guidance to their student mentees with the goal of better preparing them to be academically and developmentally successful.
Applicant Qualifications:
· Be a current UA student with a major or minor in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
· Enrolled in a minimum of 3 UA units for Fall 2016 (Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors preferred)
· Minimum of 2.75 cumulative GPA
Peer Mentor Responsibilities:
· Attend staff meetings every Thursday during the semester from 8:15-9am
· Must be available for training on both dates: Fall 2016: August 20, 2016 from 9am-4pm AND Spring 2017: January 10, 2017 from 9am-4pm
· Complete program requirements to earn 3 units of CALS 393/493 (UA engagement experience/internship)
· Serve as a peer mentor to 7-15 student mentees per semester
· Attend all CALS 195C class times for one of the sections throughout Fall term and CALS 195A for Spring term (details on application)
· Be knowledgeable of campus resources and help students transition into the University (training provided)
· Provide a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for students to learn
· Maintain confidentiality & record/input student information into database

If so, the Externships in Sustainability program is your chance to positively impact your home county by developing and launching solutions to address local challenges – all while learning real-world skills and getting paid for it!
As an extern, you’ll be one of 13 UA students working 35 hours a week for 10 weeks during the summer, from mid-May – August, alongside local University of Arizona Cooperative Extension faculty and staff in eight AZ counties. The application deadline is May 13, 2016.

The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association (NPFDA) Scholarship Foundation is entering its 37th year of scholarship assistance. Every year, five $2,500.00 scholarships are awarded to students in the fields of poultry science, food science, agricultural economics/marketing, food marketing, and related poultry and business fields of study.
Interested students may apply for the 2016-2017 academic year scholarships by completing the attached application and sending it along with a 1 page letter explaining their career goals. You will also need a letter of recommendation from a professor, department head, advisor, or dean.
The application, transcript, and letter of recommendation must reach the NPFDA office no later than May 31, 2016. Selection and notification will be completed by July 15th.
