CALS Business Services has a Student Office Assistant position open starting ASAP but must have a student who plans to work part-time during the summer. Volunteer Opportunity at Tohono Chul Park
Weekend Watering Position

Tohono Chul is currently looking for volunteers to help water plants in the propagation department on Saturdays and Sundays, both mornings and afternoons. The watering shifts last two hours. The morning shift is 8 am – 10 am and the afternoon watering shift is 1pm – 3pm. We offer training for this position.

We have some volunteer positions that seem like a great fit for students who want to build their resume. We are a botanical garden so it is related to a few different career paths such as  horticulture, event planning, botany, landscape architecture, etc.

We are looking for student volunteers who are interested in working in our propagation area (where we grow plants), special events, and working in our greenhouse. Below I have copied an example of one of our open volunteer positions.

POLITICAL AFFAIRS INTERNSHIP
This is a part-time 14-hours per week telecommuting internship.
* Conduct lobbying meetings with Congressional offices. Build support for key legislation that impacts the International Affairs Budget and the world's poor.
* Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events.
* Assist with fundraising. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
* Mobilize individuals to contact their members of Congress in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
* As needed, speak to groups, classes and organizations.
* Write letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups.

Qualifications: Outstanding writing skills. Strong oral communication skills and ability to lead meetings and give speeches.

Pre-Health Undergraduate Leaders Striving for Excellence (PULSE) CAT Ambassadors

What is a PULSE CAT Ambassador?

PULSE Ambassadors represent the Pre-Health Professions Advising Center.  They are a select group of students chosen because of their involvement and interest in health care, overall academic and leadership experiences, campus and community involvement, and communication and leadership skills in working with their peers. They work with the Pre-Health Professions Advising staff to provide program support to pre-health students.  Their primary tasks include assisting pre-health advisors in recruitment and outreach activities, workshops, and events.

Examples of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinate annual spring HEALTH EXPO
* Assist in Orientation programs for Freshman and New Students
* Serve as a liaison for pre-health professions clubs and organizations
* Establish a Pre-Health Professions Executive Club/Organization Board
* Represent the Pre-Health Professions Center at campus and community events
* Provide one-on-one peer advising to pre-health undergraduate students as needed
* Organize the Pre-Health Professions Information Blast to be held in the Fall semester

Who is eligible?
Undergraduate students who:
* Have a 2.50 minimum cumulative GPA
* Are interested in Pre-Health professions
* Have commitment to serve for at least one full academic year

Chiricahua Mountains of Southeast Arizona Volunteer

We have limited openings for volunteers from March through October each year in the beautiful Chiricahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona. We are looking for mature individuals to assist at the Station for a minimum of six to a maximum of eight weeks.
Our volunteers work 4 hours a day/6 days a week on various chores. They wash dishes, assist in the kitchen, clean rooms or labs, and assist with maintenance and gardening duties.
In exchange for their work they receive free room/board, internet service, and free laundry facilities. After the four hours of chores are completed each day, they are free to enjoy hobbies, hike the beautiful mountain trails, or join in research activities. Each volunteer is given one full day off each week.
