[Agvisors] New Start Orientation Pre-Schedule, Math

Please see email below regarding math on student schedules tomorrow. Students who are currently in MATH 100 won't know their next placement level until the course ends, so they will most likely need to make modifications after their summer MATH 100 is complete and their new placement score is in UAccess.

Please refer students to Forbes 202 to do schedule changes tomorrow, especially if they are eligible to add more math or science based on the math course they are currently enrolled in this summer. We also appreciate any and all advisor assistance at the lab space!

Subject: [oac] New Start Orientation Pre-Schedule, Math

Hi,

Math 100:
Students who are enrolled in Math 100 in New STart will not be able to add the next
math course until they qualify for it through the Math 100 final exam. We will help these
students add a fall math course at the end of the program, if necessary.

Math 112:
Students who are enrolled in Math 112 in New Start will be able to add the next course to their
fall schedule tomorrow. This list includes CHEM 151, MCB 181L/R, Math 111, 120R, 113, and other courses.
Note that the prescheduling program will not add them to the "next" course. They will need to make
the appropriate changes to their schedule tomorrow.

Thank you!

Dear Advisors,

Following is information regarding pre-schedule registration for the June 15th (New Start) student orientation.

ENGL102

· Although I anticipate a little more than half of the current NS 101A and 101 students will be pre-scheduled for fall ENGL102, anyone who is not registered must plan to take ENGL102 in spring, which is the usual semester sequence for this course. Students may also attempt to add an online section at change of schedule.

ENGL109H

· New Start students who are currently taking ENGL109H this summer do not require a second semester writing course. However, you might want to recommend they take ENGL306 - Advanced Composition in the fall semester, especially those who plan to attend graduate or professional schools where two semesters of composition are required.

· Attached is a list of five (5) June 15th orientation students who were added to a fall section of ENGL109H. Please view this list if you manage one of these majors: Pre-Business, Microbiology, Physics, Pre-Physiology, or Environmental Sciences.

o Since we do not release ENGL109H seats for pre-scheduling, and because it was a small number of students, these students were manually added to 109H this morning. These are the New Start (NS) students who are not currently enrolled in this summer's NS ENGL109H course.
