[Agvisors] Dean's Leadership 50 Nominations

Dear Department Heads, Faculty, and Academic Advisors:

The Dean's Leadership 50 (DL50) is entering its 4th year as part of CALS, and needs your assistance.  Our group focuses on developing leadership and advanced career skills through training in management and entrepreneurship.  Members take part in weekly meetings for skills development, networking opportunities, team building retreats, and team projects.  Feedback from members has consistently shown growth in confidence and skills, but most often students comment on the relationships they've built across majors.

To ensure continued diversity of academic units represented we are asking for all units to nominate up to 5 students for consideration to join the Dean's Leadership 50.  Those nominated will complete the DL50 application, provide a resume and cover letter, and then participate in an interview with current members of the group.  Eligible students will be:

*         Enrolled in a CALS Major

*         Minimum GPA 3.0

*         Sophomore, Junior, or Senior (with at least 2 semesters remaining) status

*         Exceptional freshmen will be considered this year
Please notify your students of their nomination and have them complete the application (https://www.formpl.us/form/4655941297373184). In addition send a list of your nominees to Kyle Sharp (ksharp at email.arizona.edu<mailto:ksharp at email.arizona.edu>) no later than close of business on September 6th.  Students who are not nominated by their department will be able to apply through an open application process.
