Dates and Deadlines

April 19, 2016: Final deadline to submit Late Change Petitions to the student's college. The complete withdrawal process is still available through the last day of classes.

May 4, 2016: LAST DAY OF CLASSES. No registration changes can be made after the last day of classes. Last day to file a complete withdrawal, file a $25.00 Late Drop Fee Appeal form, AND file a $250.00 Late Registration Fee appeal.

9th Annual Rainbow Graduation

Graduates: Please register at lgbtq.arizona.edu by April 25th @ Noon!

Are you graduating this May or December 2016?  Do you want to participate in a graduation ceremony that recognizes and celebrates the achievements of underrepresented sexual and/or gender identity(ies) at the U of A?

Graduates will receive rainbow cords, a certificate, and will be the guests of honor at a catered reception following the ceremony.

Paid Summer Internship at the Grand Canyon!

Live and work on the North Rim as part of a vegetation team this summer!
The primary objectives of this internship will include: 1) implementing and monitoring restoration projects; 2) collecting seed and plant material; 3) inventorying, surveying and mapping native, exotic and rare plant species; 4) removing priority exotic plant species; 5) using GPS units, compasses, digital cameras and multiple data forms to document exotic plant management and site restoration activities; and, 6) coordinating, educating and supervising volunteer groups to complete the above-listed work.

Pathways to Academic Student Success Probation Program - Become a Peer Advisors in Fall 2016!

PASS Program provides peer advising, workshops, individualized plans, and continuous support to improve students’ persistence towards graduation to students who are on academic probation for the first time in the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Medicine (Pre-Physiology), Social and Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, and the Eller College of Management.
You do not need to be a student in one of these colleges to be a PASS PA.

Individuals in this position meet with a roster of students one-on-one to help improve their academic performance, help students identify campus resources that would be valuable to them, and help students develop skills and knowledge required to be a successful student and graduate from the University of Arizona.

Important Information:
- PAs decide their own schedule between 8AM-5PM Mon-Fri. PAs are required to be available a minimum of 12 hours a week, up to a maximum of 25.
- Salary Level:  $8.25/hr
- Start date: 8/15/16
- Approximate Hours Per Week:  12-17

Applicant Qualifications:
- Minimum of 30 units taken (Sophomore standing, Juniors and Seniors preferred)
- Minimum of 2.75 cumulative GPA (3.0 preferred)
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units in the Fall 2016 semester
- Must be available to work a minimum of 12 hr/week.

Peer Advisor Responsibilities:
- Be able to attend PAID training sessions the week before classes start for the Fall semester (Aug 15-19)
- Attend staff meetings every Wednesday from 7:45am—8:45am
- Serve as a resource to 20-40 student participants
- Be knowledgeable of campus resources and help students transition into the University (training provided)
- Prepare for and conduct all bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with students
- Provide a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for students to learn
- Maintain confidentiality & record/input student information into database

Jungle Talk Contest

The Take Charge America Institute writing contest ends Friday, April 29, 2016. Consumer Jungle is joining the d-i-y revolution! Inspire your students to submit their short, 300-500 word article to Consumer Jungle and tell us all about how they are saving money by making, building and repairing things, increasing their skill set, and becoming more resourceful!

Remember, there must be a financial component to the article. One Grand Prize winner will be selected and three runners-ups. View the full contest rules and have your students submit their entry to Consumer Jungle here:

The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association (NPFDA) Scholarship Foundation is entering its 37th year of scholarship assistance. Every year, five $2,500.00 scholarships are awarded to students in the fields of poultry science, food science, agricultural economics/marketing, food marketing, and related poultry and business fields of study.
Interested students may apply for the 2016-2017 academic year scholarships by completing the attached application and sending it along with a 1 page letter explaining their career goals. You will also need a letter of recommendation from a professor, department head, advisor, or dean.
The application, transcript, and letter of recommendation must reach the NPFDA office no later than May 31, 2016. Selection and notification will be completed by July 15th.
