[Agvisors] CALS lunch with CLAS advisors and staff 10/2/15 invite

Greetings Agvisors:

The Office of Career and Academic Services will be hosting a presentation (11-12) and lunch (12-1) for the UA College of Letters, Arts and Sciences (CLAS) advisors on Friday October 2, 2015.  We would like to invite Agvisors to the lunch component from 12-1pm at the Forbes lobby.  It will be an opportunity for you to highlight your majors and address any specific questions the CLAS advisors may have.  Bring materials for them for take for their use and to share with undecided students that may have an interest in a CALS major.  RSVP to Maria Bueno (mbueno at email.arizona.edu<mailto:mbueno at email.arizona.edu>) by Tuesday 9/29.

Attached is a CALS majors description handout with some frequently asked questions content (i.e. major advisor, math level required, second language required, etc.). Please refer to your respective major and send Kristen Geary (kgeary at email.arizona.edu<mailto:kgeary at email.arizona.edu>) any edits and/or ideas on additional content to include by Tuesday 9/29. Since it's a quick referral sheet we would like to keep it at 2 pages doubled-sided maximum.

This is a great on-campus recruitment and retention initiative.  Many students that migrate into CALS majors come from CLAS, so it's important to keep the advisors (many of which are new) informed of all CALS offers.  Pre-health and pre-law advisors are included in this group.
