Hi Agvisors, happy Friday!
Priority Registration always brings out lots of questions and sticky situations, so as a reminder here is some information courtesy of the Math Department regarding the expiration of math placement scores and use of transfer coursework as math prerequisites (thanks to Liz Collins for gathering the info!):
The Math Department tells students that their ALEKS Math Placement test scores are good for one year for math courses but they are programmed in UAccess to become invalid after 15 months. Test scores for science courses are good for 2 years.
If the score is not valid, the student will not be able to register. If the score expires after the student registers but before the class starts, the Math Department won't drop students. The rules are based on their registration date (UAccess can't handle anything more complicated).
Transfer prerequisites are good for 3 semesters. After that, the student will need to retest and then go to the Math Department for advising if they want to insist on using transfer credit but have a low test score.
Have a great weekend!
Kristen
