For your reference as you advise new students during the summer orientations

Hello Advising Coordinators, attached you will find the descriptions of the four GE courses that are part of the Wildcat Academy (WA) program.  We ask that as you are advising WA students emphasize these faculty are student centered, teach smaller GE courses on a very interesting topic, and have supplemental instruction built in to the class to foster greater success.  If they want to switch from the course they were put in they may be able to move to one of the other three options and we will change them into the course at change of schedule at ILC.  Department consent is required to add, swap or drop these courses.

The EDP/SAS courses have been developed as one unit success courses that would be of value for freshmen or continuing students.  They will be co taught between EDP faculty and Student Affairs staff and each are five weeks long with no prerequisites and can be taken in any order.  Think of them as a colloquium style course on the topic of learning and practical approaches to becoming a better student.
