Hi Elaine,

I wanted to email you sooner but have literally just received directives today and am still "changing" our fall 2015 schedule of classes. Here's the skinny on the CALS section of Comm 119.

We were hoping to offer two sections to CALS but we find ourselves very short of TA's for Fall due to exiting grads and temp budget constraints. That said, we have set aside ONE section of Comm 119, 002 Mass Lec and 002A discussion for the CALS college. We've set it up so ONLY your students may register for this section. The main Mass Lecture meets Mondays from 3-3:50 with discussions meeting on WF from 11-11:50. Your students should be able to register for this with no issues per the way I've set it up.

I would appreciate it if you would please share this information with any staff, advisors, etc who will need to know this. I spoke to your advisor Michelle earlier and she will be sending an email to your undergrads letting them know ONLY section 002/002A is available to them. I also asked her to make it clear to them to please not contact our office begging to get into other sections they may see open once CALS is full. We need to accommodate our own majors as you know. I will keep you updated as soon as I hear anything about being able to make another section available to CALS and I sure hope we can. In the meantime please feel free to call or email me with any questions you may have.
