Greetings Agvisors:
Below is an email for your reference.
Keep referring new transfer (TR) students to sign up and attend a CALS TR Orientation to be officially eligible to enroll for Fall.
There are 3 TR Student Welcome session dates that CALS will also hold a TR orientation, but students need to sign up ahead of time: July 20, 24 and August 17. The TR Student Welcome is not an orientation. It is an optional event for students to partake in. As you can tell from the attached agenda it's mostly a student business fair type of event, and they also get to interact with other new TR students.
Our office is reaching out to students that have signed up for a TR Student Welcome, but not a TR Orientation yet.
Thanks for all your efforts in helping the TR students transition to the UA.
Bear Down!
Nancy

Subject: [oac] Transfer Student Welcomes - 7/20 & 7/24
Hello everyone,
Just a quick reminder that a week from today is our first Transfer Student Welcome session of the summer, followed by a second event next Friday. We have 468 students registered for 7/20 and 431 for 7/24. The draft schedule for the programs is attached.
While we have done our best to communicate that the Transfer Student Welcome is not an orientation or registration event, we are bound to have students that have questions about advising and registration. The New Student Services staff is prepared to help students with questions about Next Steps Center, the Transfer Student Academic Preview, and UAccess; however, colleges may also see increased traffic and communication next week from participants looking for college-specific information or to set up an advising appointment.
Thank you in advance for your time, dedication, and involvement in helping to welcome our incoming class of transfer students. Let me know if you have any questions.
Damien
