Does your academic advisor deserve special recognition for his or her outstanding work?  Then nominate your advisor for a university-wide advising award!
The nomination process is simple!

Write a short statement that describes why your academic advisor deserves to be recognized and the characteristics that distinguishes him or her as outstanding.  Send your nomination statement to:  advising at email.arizona.edu (mailto:advising at email.arizona.edu) no later than 5:00 pm on February 27, 2015.

Include your academic advisor's name and your full name and contact information. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your nomination.

Dates and Deadlines

Mar 10: Change of Schedule form with Instructor's permission to add of change classes in accepted until end of business day

March 11: W All Change of Schedule forms to add or change classes require not only the Instructor's signature indicating permission but all the Dean's signature. By policy, permission from the Dean to make a registration change at this time requires an extraordinary reason. UAccess is still available to withdraw online through March 24th

March 14-22: Spring Recess

March 31: Last day to withdraw online through UAccess. Complete withdrawal is still available through last day of classes

April 1: Course withdrawals may be processed only with the approval of the student's College Dean on a Late Change Petition now through April 14th. Students must have an extra ordinary reason for approval.

Public Lands Foundation George Lea Founder’s Scholarship!

The George Lea Founder’s Scholarship consists of:
-$5,000 to be used toward the student’s tuition expenses;
-An invitation to attend the next Public Lands Foundation annual meeting, with all transportation and living expenses paid;
-The opportunity to “shadow” a local Bureau of Land Management manager for a day.

Students who are eligible to apply include:
-All Juniors, Seniors, and Masters-level graduate students majoring in a natural resource or public land policy curriculum;
-And who demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0;
-And are full-time students carrying a full-course workload.

The University of Arizona chapter of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society is proud to offer a number of different scholarships and awards to sophomore and junior students.

Completed Applications are due to the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL) front office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday March 23rd, 2015. The CSIL office is located on the 4th Floor of SUMC.

MORTAR BOARD SCHOLARSHIP
Established in 1983, the scholarship is awarded annually to an individual who most exemplifies the qualities that Mortar Board demands of its own members: outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service to both the University of Arizona and the community. Both men and women with sophomore standing (completed 30-60 units) and pursuing any undergraduate major are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The award may amount up to $500.
Due by 5:00pm on Monday March 23rd, 2015

JODY WINN-ODEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This award was established in 1984 in memory of Jody Winn-Oden, a pre-medical student and member of Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society, who was tragically killed that year in a car accident. Both men and women with junior standing (completed >60 units) pursuing a pre-medical curriculum or majoring in nursing are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Selection will be based upon the ability to convey outstanding character, leadership, and service, as well as sincere dedication to the healthcare profession. The award amount is at least $500.

The University of Arizona Spring Break Safety Fair

Students at The University of Arizona will be on spring break beginning March 14th, 2015 through March 22rd, 2015.  Before students depart for their spring break destinations, The University of Arizona Police Department would like to remind students to “Stay Safe, Stay Smart, Stay Alive.”

In an effort to promote safety and awareness during spring break, The University of Arizona Police Department has partnered with the Associated Students of The University of Arizona to host the annual Spring Break Safety Fair.  The fair provides students with valuable travel and safety information.  Participating agencies include representatives from the United States Consulate to Mexico, The Office of Tourism and Visitor Assistance in Rocky Point, The Sonoran Department of Tourism, Customs and Border Protection, Campus Health Service, The Women’s Resource Center, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and The Tucson Police Department.  A number of student run organizations such as the Student Health Advocacy Committee, SafeCats, and UAEMS will also be present.  Representatives from each group will be available to answer questions and provide valuable safety information to students as they prepare to enjoy Spring Break.
